Pluto Film Acquires First German Film


The debut feature by Gerd Schneider is an intense drama inspired by the discovery of numerous abuse cases within the Catholic church. Directed by Gerd Schneider, a theology-student and former priest-candidate, the film is told from a truly inner perspective. "The Culpable" (“Verfehlung”) will be launched in Cannes’ Marché du Film.

Pluto Film acquires international rights for the German drama "The Culpable".

"The Culpable” tells the story of three young priests who are about to start promising careers within the church. When one if them is accused of sexual abuse, not only the friendship between the three men, but also their beliefs are in grave danger.

The cast includes promising talents such as Sebastian Blomberg, Kai Schumann, Jan Messutat, Sandra Borgmann, Valerie Koch, Rade Radovic and Hartmut Becker.
